Good Puzzle

One pair of diagonally opposite boxes of a chess board is removed. Assuming the size of a box as 1*1 (width * height),with how many paper pieces of size (2*1), you can cover the entire board ? No overlapping of paper pieces are permitted.

    "...how many pieces of size..." pieces of what?
    And you failed to mention that these 'pieces' shouldn't overlap and that no part of these pieces should stick out.
